Massey University - Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa on the Manawatū campus in Palmerston North seeks an Academic Administration Team Lead to lead a team of academic administrators and oversee key processes supporting teaching and governance.

You will combine people leadership with specialist administrative expertise to ensure services are delivered accurately, efficiently, and in line with university requirements. A relevant tertiary qualification and strong leadership are preferred.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in academic administration, ideally in a tertiary education environment.
• Knowledge of academic qualifications, courses, programme development, and quality assurance requirements.
• Proven experience leading and developing teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• Demonstrated project coordination across multiple initiatives.
• Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of academic administration staff.
• Provide expert guidance across academic administration processes and systems.
• Support academic governance, committees, and curriculum management activities.
• Oversee student records and ensure timely, accurate administration services.
• Manage complex cases, exceptions, and process improvements.
• Contribute to admissions, undergraduate and postgraduate administration, placements/WiL, and other specialised functions.
