Job summary

Kinetic Recruitment is seeking an experienced Export Airfreight Operator to join a New Zealand–owned logistics business in Auckland. The role is hands‑on, coordinating export shipments and supporting clients, airlines and overseas agents.

You will manage start‑to‑finish export movements for perishable cargo such as seafood, meat, dairy and produce, handle documentation, obtain freight rates and contribute to a well‑run export team in a busy environment.

Qualifications

• Export freight forwarding experience required.
• Exposure to perishable airfreight preferred.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Attention to detail in a busy environment.
• Good IT skills, including Word and Excel.

Export Airfreight Operator | Auckland

I’m currently looking for an experienced Export Airfreight Operator to join an established New Zealand-owned logistics business.

This is a hands‑on role within the Export Airfreight team, supporting the day‑to‑day coordination of export shipments and working closely with clients, airlines and overseas agents.

Previous experience in export freight forwarding is essential, ideally with exposure to perishable airfreight.

What you’ll be doing

• Coordinating export airfreight shipments from start to finish


• Liaising with clients, airlines and overseas agents


• Preparing export documentation for perishable cargo including seafood, meat, dairy and produce


• Data entry and maintaining accurate shipment information


• Obtaining freight rates and preparing client quotations


• Supporting the wider export team with the day‑to‑day running of operations

What we’re looking for

You’ll be someone who is organised, reliable and comfortable working in a busy environment where attention to detail matters.

You’ll also bring:

• Previous export freight forwarding experience


• Strong communication and organisational skills


• The ability to remain calm and work efficiently under pressure


• Good computer skills, particularly Word and Excel


• Strong problem‑solving skills and a willingness to learn


• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team


• A good attitude and sense of humour


• The ability to pick up new systems and processes quickly


• A clean or current NZ driver's licence, with at least a restricted licence required

Experience with Customs PINs, E-cert, EDI and CargoWise would be advantageous, but isn’t essential.
