Job summary

Orkney Roofing in Wellington is seeking an experienced long-run roofer or roofing foreman to join our team. You will lead crews on commercial and residential projects, reading plans and delivering top finishes.

You must have at least five years of long-run roofing experience, strong metal wall cladding, and the ability to plan work and communicate professionally with contractors and site managers. A NZ driver licence is required, and site safety certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• At least five years of long-run roofing experience.
• Foreman or team leadership experience preferred.
• Proven commercial and residential roofing experience.
• Strong metal wall cladding experience.
• Excellent flashing, gutter, junction and penetration detailing.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural plans.
• Ability to plan work and identify problems before they affect the installation.
• Strong knowledge of roofing compliance and health and safety requirements.
• Ability to communicate professionally with main contractors, site managers and team members.
• Full New Zealand driver licence.

Experienced Long-Run Roofer / Roofing Foreman

We are looking for experienced, detail-focused long-run roofers and roofing foremen to join our Wellington team.

We have an extremely strong pipeline of secured commercial and residential projects and need highly capable roofers who take pride in their work and consistently deliver excellent finishes.

You must be confident working independently, interpreting plans and completing complex roofing, cladding and flashing details without constant supervision.

We have a dedicated membrane division, so this position is focused on long-run metal roofing, wall cladding and associated flashing work.

What we require:

At least five years of long-run roofing experience

Foreman or team leadership experience preferred

Proven commercial and residential roofing experience

Strong metal wall cladding experience

Excellent flashing, gutter, junction and penetration detailing

Ability to read and interpret architectural plans

Ability to plan work and identify problems before they affect the installation

Strong knowledge of roofing compliance and health and safety requirements

Ability to communicate professionally with main contractors, site managers and team members

Full New Zealand driver licence

Reliable attendance and a professional attitude

Site Safe and Working at Heights certification is preferred, but these can be renewed for the right applicant.

$40 to $50 per hour, based on experience and proven ability
