Job summary

Recruitnz is seeking an experienced Roofer to join a hands-on outdoor team in New Zealand. You will install and maintain roofing systems, ensuring durability, watertightness, and safety on every project.

The role requires 3+ years in roofing or construction, knowledge of tiles and metal roofing, and the ability to read blueprints. You will work closely with the Project Manager to deliver high‑quality results while maintaining a safe site.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in roofing or construction.
• Knowledge of roofing materials, including tiles and metal roofing.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints, plans and specifications.
• Familiarity with safety protocols for working at heights.
• Experience using roofing tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret roofing plans; measure and prepare areas.
• Install tiles, long-run roofing, flashings, membranes and ridge caps.
• Cut and fit roofing materials around edges, chimneys and vents.
• Check alignment; seal gaps; ensure watertight roofs.
• Safely use roofing tools; set up scaffolding and ladders.
• Maintain a clean, organized worksite.
• Follow health and safety procedures and report incidents.
• Work collaboratively with Project Manager and team.

About You:

We're looking for a skilled Roofer with proven roofing or construction experience, strong technical knowledge and the ability to work safely and effectively in outdoor environments.

• Minimum 3 years' experience in roofing or construction
• Knowledge of different roofing materials, including tiles and metal roofing
• Understanding of roofing installation techniques
• Familiarity with safety protocols for working at heights
• Experience using roofing tools and equipment
• Ability to measure and install roofing components accurately
• Understanding of roofing systems and weatherproofing techniques
• Ability to read and follow blueprints,plansand specifications
• Proficiencywith nail guns, hammers,laddersand scaffolding
• Strong physical fitness and stamina for outdoor work
• Good communicationand interpersonal skills, with the ability to meetEnglish language requirements (PTE Academic score of 29 or IELTS overall band score of 4.0)
• Ability to build positive working relationships and work effectively as part of a team
