Job summary

Extreme Flooring NZ – Albany, North Island is seeking an experienced Flooring Installer to install laminate, engineered timber, hybrid/SPC and other hard flooring systems, including floating and glue-down methods. You will perform subfloor preparation, site assessments and deliver high-quality workmanship, working independently when required.

Ideal candidates will have 2+ years of installing floors, strong English communication and a commitment to safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' flooring installation experience preferred.
• Experience installing laminate, engineered timber, hybrid/SPC or similar flooring.
• Experience with floating and glue-down systems.
• Good knowledge of subfloor preparation and floor flatness requirements.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High standard of workmanship and attention to detail.
• Good English and strong communication skills.
• Current driver's licence highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Installing laminate, engineered timber, hybrid/SPC and other hard flooring products.
• Floating, Uniclic and glue-down installations.
• Measuring, cutting and fitting flooring accurately.
• Installing underlay, trims, transitions and stair nosings.
• Flooring uplift and removal where required.
• Assessing subfloor flatness and determining the preparation required.
• Grinding, levelling and other floor preparation work.
• Site assessments, flooring repairs and inspections.
• Installing flooring in accordance with manufacturer requirements.
• Identifying site or installation issues and reporting these before proceeding.
• Communicating professionally with clients, managers, supervisors and colleagues.
• Keeping clients and the team informed about the day's work, progress and any issues.
• Maintaining a clean and safe worksite.
