Job summary

Wilsons Cambridge Ltd in Cambridge, North Island, is seeking a customer-focused flooring sales consultant. You will help customers in the showroom and visit homes and sites to assess needs, measure areas, and prepare quotes for carpet, vinyl, laminate, timber flooring, and curtains.

You will build strong relationships, provide expert product advice, coordinate with suppliers and installers, and ensure smooth project completion.

Qualifications

• Essential flooring industry experience.

Wilsons Cambridge Ltd - Cambridge, North Island

This is a customer-focused sales role, with a strong emphasis on carpet, while also selling vinyl, laminate, timber flooring and curtains. You will work with customers in the showroom as well as visiting homes and building sites to provide professional advice, measure requirements, prepare quotes and help customers choose the right products for their needs.

Key responsibilities

• Meet and consult with customers in the showroom and in their homes.
• Build strong relationships with customers and provide excellent service throughout the sales process.
• Measure and assess areas for carpet and flooring requirements.
• Recommend suitable flooring and curtain products based on customer needs, budget and lifestyle.
• Prepare accurate quotations and follow up enquiries and quotes to convert opportunities into sales.
• Maintain strong product knowledge across carpet, vinyl, laminate, timber and curtains.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding product availability, pricing, samples and orders.
• Coordinate with installers and subcontractors to ensure jobs are scheduled and completed correctly.
• Carry out site visits and check installation requirements where necessary.
• Assist with resolving customer queries.

About you

• Previous flooring industry experience - essential.
• Strong knowledge of carpet and flooring products and installation requirements.
• Proven sales and customer service experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build rapport with customers and understand their requirements.
• Good attention to detail, particularly when measuring, quoting and ordering.
• The ability to manage multiple customers and jobs at different stages.
• A positive, professional and reliable approach to work.
• Confidence working independently in customers' homes and on building sites.
• A current driver's licence.
