Job summary

LIC IMMIGRATION in Auckland is seeking experienced flooring installers to inspect, prepare and install carpet and floor coverings on client sites. You will measure areas, cut and fit materials, and ensure seamless transitions with attention to detail.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years of related experience or a Level 4 qualification, and demonstrate reliability, self-motivation, and a clean criminal record for safe, quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and prepare floor surfaces by removing existing floor coverings, cleaning, levelling and repairing subfloors to ensure they are suitable for installation.
• Measure floor areas, calculate material requirements, and mark out cutting and installation plans according to site measurements, drawings and job specifications.
• Measure, cut, shape and fit carpets and other floor coverings to suit rooms, stairs, corners, doorways and other irregular areas.
• Install carpets and floor coverings using appropriate methods and materials, including adhesives, underlay, grippers, fasteners and joining techniques.
• Join, stretch, secure and trim carpet and flooring materials, ensuring seams, edges and transitions are properly aligned and professionally finished.
• Inspect completed flooring work, carry out necessary adjustments or repairs, and ensure installations meet required workmanship, site and safety standards.
