Job summary

Oji Fibre Solutions in Christchurch, New Zealand, is seeking a Maintenance Planner to coordinate maintenance work, spares, and procurement for manufacturing operations. The role focuses on planning, scheduling, supplier coordination and CMMS data management to support production and shutdown activities.

The successful candidate will have experience in maintenance planning and engineering coordination, strong organisational and communication skills, and familiarity with CMMS/ERP systems.

• Experience in maintenance planning, engineering coordination, materials, purchasing or related industrial roles ideal.
• Strong organisational, communication and relationship-management skills.
• Experience using CMMS, ERP, purchasing system or similar business system.

Responsibilities

• Plan corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance work and prepare clear job scopes and work packs.
• Maintain a prioritised and visible maintenance backlog and produce weekly maintenance schedules with Engineering and Production.
• Support shutdown preparation, including work scopes, resources, contractors, long-lead materials and OEM requirements.
• Obtain quotations and progress approved purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
• Coordinate suppliers, repair agents, contractors, freight, deliveries and overdue or critical orders.
• Maintain accurate engineering inventory records and coordinate critical spares, repairable components, and consumables.
• Support contractor onboarding, permits, JSEA records and assigned compliance activities.
• Maintain CMMS planning data and work-order quality and provide day-to-day system guidance to Engineering personnel.
• Computer literate (Outlook, Word and Excel)

Job description

Oji Fibre Solutions is one of New Zealand's leading manufacturers and suppliers of packaging solutions to a wide range of industries throughout the country. Our customers include blue chip manufacturers and marketers of packaging products to the food, primary produce, industrial and grocery sectors.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will help ensure maintenance work is properly prepared and scheduled, with the required parts, materials, contractors and services available when needed. The role combines maintenance planning, engineering purchasing, materials coordination, contractor administration, compliance support and CMMS information management.

About you:

• Experience in maintenance planning, engineering coordination, materials, purchasing or related industrial roles ideal.
• Strong organisational, communication and relationship-management skills.
• Experience using CMMS, ERP, purchasing system or similar business system.
• Confidence coordinating suppliers, contractors, quotations, orders and delivery requirements.
• Good computer skills, attention to detail and a practical understanding of manufacturing or maintenance operations.
• An engineering or electrical trade qualification is advantageous but not essential.
