Job summary

OJI Fibre Solutions in Levin is seeking a Reliability Engineer to lead the site's maintenance program, improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will apply predictive and preventative maintenance, RCA, and Lean principles to push continuous improvements across the production team.

The role requires 3+ years in reliability engineering, experience with pneumatics/hydraulics, and CMMS proficiency (MEX, SAP).

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a Reliability Engineering role with proven project delivery.
• Experience in managing and improving machinery reliability in a modern high-speed manufacturing environment.
• Experience in pneumatics, hydraulic systems with a working knowledge of engineering methods.
• Strong health and safety culture including knowledge of permit to work systems, LOTO and machine guarding.
• Comfortable running RCA workshops with a cross functional team to deliver top results.
• Total Preventative Maintenance experience.
• Experience using a CMMS system (MEX, SAP etc).
• Computer literacy in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Improve plant reliability by reviewing current results and ensuring correct execution of preventative and predictive maintenance schedules.
• Reduce downtime and extend equipment life through the optimisation of reliability centred maintenance programs, data collection and regular risk-based inspections.
• Resolve major breakdowns and roadblocks to productivity using RCA and other collaborative problem-solving techniques.
• Adopt and teach Reliability techniques to maintenance and production staff.
• Focus on continuous improvement with the current maintenance team to design and implement improvements to existing equipment and processes.
• Identify and deal with barriers to improving engineering performance.
• Manage effective relationships with suppliers and contractors.
• Support Health & Safety culture within the team.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will work closelywith production and various other departments, whilst exhibiting a strong drive,along with highly skilled technical expertise and a confident communicationstyle. Due to the demanding nature ofour fast-paced manufacturing process, you need to be flexible with work hours,with the expectation of some call outs and weekend work.

We wantyour expertise in predictive and preventative engineering to lead the sitesproductive maintenance program with the goal of eliminating equipment andprocess failures.

You willbe responsible for:

You possess:

• 3 years + experience working in aReliability Engineering role, with proven successfully delivered projects
• Experiencemanaging and improving machinery reliability in a modern high-speedmanufacturing environment
• Experiencein pneumatics, hydraulic systems with a working knowledge of engineeringmethods
• Strong health and safety cultureincluding knowledge of permit to work systems, LOTO and machine guarding
• Comfortable running RCA workshopswith a cross functional team to deliver up results
• AdvancedTrade Certification and/or NZCE or relevant Degree in Mechanical Engineering(or Electrical)
• Formaltraining in Lean principles advantageous
• RCA BestPractice knowledge
• TotalPreventative Maintenance experience
• Experience using a CMMS system (MEX,SAP etc)
• Computerliterate in Word, Excel and Powerpoint
