Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora invites applications for an Emergency Medicine Registrar in Nelson Hospital. This fixed-term (6 or 12 months), full-time position offers day, evening and night shifts within a busy ED and a multidisciplinary team delivering emergency care.

You will assess, treat and disposition patients, may cover non-ED runs, and contribute to quality reviews while pursuing Rural/Regional ACEM training. Applicants must be Trainee with ACEM and eligible for MCNZ registration.

Qualifications

• Trainee registered with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine
• Hold valid registration or be eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
• Commitment to providing ethical treatment
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering Emergency Medicine to patients within a multidisciplinary team
• Responsible for assessment, treatment and disposition of patients
• Participate in non-ED runs (Cardiology, Orthopaedics, General Medicine) and varied shift patterns
