Nelson Hospital in Nelson is seeking an Emergency Medicine Registrar to join the team on a full-time basis. You will assist in delivering Emergency Medicine to patients, work within a multidisciplinary team, and be responsible for assessment, treatment and disposition of patients across shifts.
Exposure to non-ED runs such as Cardiology, Orthopaedics and General Medicine is possible; roster shifts include day, evening, night, and weekend patterns.

As an Emergency Medicine Registrar, you will assist indelivering Emergency Medicine to patients working across a multidisciplinaryteam and be responsible for assessment, treatment and disposition of patients.
Some non-ED runs may be available and include Cardiology,Orthopaedics and General Medicine. There will be emergency roster shiftpatterns – AM, mid, PM and night shifts plus weekend shifts.
The hours of work are 8.00AM to 5.00PM (day-shift); 12.00PMto 9.00PM (mid-shift); 4.00PM to 1.00AM (evening-shift); 11.00PM to 8.00AM(night-shift). There is no on-call but there will be additional duties you mightbe offered to pick up.

The Emergency Department (ED) currently sees over 31,000patients per year and is accredited for 12 months of Rural/Regional training byACEM. The case mix is varied and covers the entire spectrum of emergencymedicine including trauma and paediatrics.
You will join a highly motivated and experienced team thatincludes seven emergency physicians and experienced ED senior medical officers,dedicated nursing staff and allied health.
