The Role

We're seeking an Intermediate to Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join an established building services team.

You'll be involved in the design and delivery of electrical building services projects from concept through to construction, working alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary project teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing electrical building services systems for a variety of projects.

• Preparing calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.

• Coordinating designs with other engineering disciplines.

• Liaising with clients, architects, contractors, and project stakeholders.

• Supporting projects through tender, construction, and commissioning stages.

• Undertaking site inspections and resolving technical issues.

• Ensuring designs comply with relevant New Zealand standards and regulations.

For Senior candidates, there will be opportunities to lead projects, manage client relationships, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the ongoing growth of the business.

About You

You're an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with a background in building services consultancy and a passion for delivering practical, high-quality engineering solutions.

You'll ideally have:

• A relevant engineering qualification (BE, BEngTech, or equivalent).

• At least 3-5 years of building services consultancy experience in New Zealand.

• Experience delivering electrical design projects from concept through to construction.

• Knowledge of relevant New Zealand electrical standards, building codes, and industry practices.

• Experience with industry-standard electrical design and documentation software.

• Strong technical, communication, and coordination skills.

• The ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.

Chartered status, or progress towards chartership, will be highly regarded.
