Job summary

Fluid Recruitment is assisting a well-established New Zealand consultancy to recruit an Intermediate to Senior Hydraulics & Fire Protection Design Engineer in Auckland (with projects also in Christchurch or Wellington).

You’ll work on varied projects across commercial, healthcare, education, industrial and residential sectors, collaborating with experienced engineers and taking greater ownership of technical design and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in hydraulic services design within a consultancy or building services environment.
• Fire protection design experience, or an interest in working across both disciplines.
• Knowledge of relevant New Zealand standards and building regulations.
• Experience with design documentation, calculations, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.

We're seeking an Intermediate to Senior Hydraulics & Fire Protection Design Engineer to join a well-established New Zealand consultancy with a strong pipeline of projects across commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, and residential sectors.

This is an opportunity to work on varied projects, collaborate with experienced engineers, and take greater ownership of technical design and project delivery.

Depending on your experience, you'll have the opportunity to lead projects, work directly with clients, and mentor junior team members.

About You

You'll ideally have:

• Experience in hydraulic services design within a consultancy or building services environment.

• Fire protection design experience, or an interest in working across both disciplines.

• Knowledge of relevant New Zealand standards and building regulations.

• Experience with design documentation, calculations, and multidisciplinary coordination.

• Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.

• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
