Job summary

ATT is seeking motivated individuals for electrical apprenticeships in Christchurch, NZ. You will support tradesmen in pre-wire and fit-off work, with exposure to EV charging and residential projects, and some commercial work. Training wage applies and pay increases as you gain skills.

Applicants should have NZ permanent residency or citizenship, a clean criminal record, and the ability to pass pre-employment tests. A driver’s license is preferred, with reliable transport to worksites.

Qualifications

• Comfort with basic carpentry and electrical hand tools.
• Interest and basic math ability to support electrical work.
• Desire to learn and apply electrical trade concepts.

Responsibilities

• Assist tradesmen with pre-wire and fit-off tasks.
• Gain exposure to EV charging, residential, and some commercial work.
• Support apprenticeship training and toolbox organization.

About the role:

You will be supporting the tradesmen in pre-wire and fit off, there will be exposure to EV charging, residential and some commercial work, with future potential of working with the Solar.

You will need to:

• Be reliable - on time, every time
• Confident using power tools and know what they are used for
• Have some job experience - whether that's labouring experience, or holiday jobs
• Be good with your hands - you know how to use tools
• Have your driver's license (Restricted or Full) with reliable transport to get to work
• Have a clean criminal record
• Be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol tests
• Be a NZ permanent resident or citizen
• Have an insight into the Electrical trade - good at maths (at least NCEA L2) an preferably have studied physics.
• Maybe you have completed an electrical pre-trade course or have completed an Electrical Gateway placement while at school.
