Job summary

EVT - Entertainment | Ventures | Travel is seeking a Duty Manager to oversee the Front Office at Sherwood Queenstown. You’ll be the face of the hotel on shifts, resolving guest requests, leading the team, and maintaining our high service standard.

The role is permanent full-time with a minimum of 30 hours per week, requiring evenings, weekends and public holidays. Opera Cloud experience is a plus and previous Front Office work is essential.

Qualifications

• A current Duty Manager's Certificate is required.
• Previous experience in Front Office is essential.
• Opera Cloud experience is advantageous.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills and a welcoming service style.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Front Office operations and ensure staff coverage and service standards.
• Greet VIP and group arrivals, ensure smooth check-ins and warm welcomes.
• Manage the hotel complaint system with professional, timely responses.
• Maximise RevPAR and occupancy through yield management and interdepartmental coordination.
• Maintain the duty log with accurate shift information for reference.
• Lead the hotel through crisis management when required to protect guests and staff.
