Job summary

Tranzit Group is seeking 2 qualified Diesel Mechanics for our Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt workshops in New Zealand. The role requires 5+ years’ experience with diesel vehicles and a strong diagnostic skillset.

You’ll be part of a nationwide workshop network that values safety, quality, and development. We offer a full-time permanent position at 45 hours per week with an on-call roster, competitive pay based on experience, and a fortnightly tool allowance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of proven Diesel Mechanic experience.
• NZ citizenship or permanent residence to work in NZ is required for application.
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills.
• Good communication and reliability in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and minor repairs to keep fleet road ready.
• Prepare vehicles for COF inspections.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults.
• Ensure all work meets safety and quality standards.

We are seeking 2 qualified Diesel Mechanics to join our Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt workshop team. Our Hutt Valley fleet is primarily diesel vehicles, with potential for opportunities to work on emerging EV technology as our fleet continues to evolve. This is a great opportunity to expand your skills while working alongside our experienced and passionate team.

What will your day look like?

• Carrying out routine servicing and minor repairs to keep our fleet road ready.
• Preparing vehicles for COF inspections.
• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults.
• Ensuring all work meets high safety and quality standards.

We Are Looking For

• A Qualified Diesel Mechanic with proven experience (5 years +), preferably within the road transport industry.
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills.
• A reliable team player with great communication.
• Full NZ driver's licence (Class 2 or higher preferred).
