Job summary

Beca Group Limited is seeking a Lead Data Engineer in Auckland to lead enterprise-scale data initiatives, shaping data platforms, pipelines and governance. You will mentor teams and drive secure, scalable data solutions across stakeholders and business units.

You will work with Data Scientists and AI Engineers to operationalise advanced analytics while championing best practices and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• A strong background in modern data engineering practices is essential.
• Experience with Azure pipelines, Microsoft Fabric (or similar data lake environments) and SQL Server is required.
• Exposure to Python, data governance and master data management is highly regarded.
• Experience with structured and unstructured data, geospatial datasets and IoT data is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of data pipelines and ETL/ELT frameworks.
• Maintain and optimise cloud-based data platforms and enable data re-use.
• Implement data security controls across platforms.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists and AI Engineers to operationalise advanced analytics.
