Job summary

Beca is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to drive enterprise-scale data engineering initiatives. You will lead design and delivery of data pipelines, warehousing, and integration solutions to enable data-driven decisions across business lines and geographies.

You will partner with Data Scientists and AI Engineers, mentor teams, and champion best practices in data governance and security while shaping the data capability across the organisation. This is a permanent role based in Auckland, NZ.

Qualifications

• Strong background in modern data engineering practices is essential.
• Experience with Azure pipelines, Microsoft Fabric and SQL Server is required.
• Exposure to Python, data governance and master data management will be highly regarded.
• Experience with structured and unstructured data, geospatial datasets and IoT data is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of data pipelines and ETL/ELT frameworks.
• Maintain and optimise cloud-based data platforms and implement data security controls.
• Enable re-use of enterprise data assets across the organisation.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists and AI Engineers to operationalise analytics and ML solutions.
