Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings NZ team delivers end-to-end projects, including data centres, with expertise across mechanical, electrical, civil, and sustainability engineering. We value user-centric design and collaborative delivery.

As Design Manager you will lead both in-house and external project teams, translating client briefs into robust design solutions and working across NZ and Australia to ensure timely, high-quality outputs that meet client needs.

Qualifications

• 15 years' experience in an engineering delivery environment.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams both internal and external.
• Proven successful project background in data centres or similar complex vertical build projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead in-house and external project technical teams to develop and deliver design solutions.
• Translate client briefs into appropriate design deliverables.
• Coordinate with group leaders and subconsultants to ensure quality and schedule.
• Develop constructive relationships with contractors, clients, and other consultants.
• Support business development activities, including preparing proposal material.

Education

Tertiary qualification in engineering or construction field

Chartered Engineer or equivalent recognition
