Job summary

Stantec seeks a Design Manager for Data Centres in New Zealand. You will lead both inhouse and external project technical teams to develop optimal design solutions that meet client briefs, budgets, and schedules.

The role requires strong client focus, adaptability, and cross‑disciplinary coordination with group leaders and technical directors across NZ and Australia. You will drive technical delivery, quality assurance, and proposals, while mentoring a team across buildings and data centre

Qualifications

15 years’ experience in an engineering delivery environment.
Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams internal and external.
Proven successful project background in data centres or similar complex builds.
Chartered Engineer or similar industry recognition.

Responsibilities

Lead inhouse and external project technical teams to deliver technical solutions.
Ensure outputs are delivered on time and within budgets.
Plan and produce technical deliverables; confirm delivery methodology and resources.
Coordinate with group leaders for QA, budgets and schedules.
Deliver projects to required quality standards using remote teams.
Develop relationships with contractors, clients, and other consultants.
Support proposals and bid development with required materials.
