Job summary

Stantec in New Zealand is seeking a Design Manager for data centres to lead engineering delivery across multidisciplinary teams. You will oversee technical design, client engagement, and timely project outcomes with a focus on critical facilities.

Ideal candidates will have extensive data centre project experience, chartered or equivalent recognition, and a tertiary engineering degree. The role offers a full-time schedule and opportunities for professional growth within a global firm.

Qualifications

• 15 years’ experience in an engineering delivery environment.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams in professional services or construction.
• Proven successful project background in data centres or similar complex builds.
• Tertiary qualification in engineering or construction.

Responsibilities

• Regularly connecting with clients to understand needs and provide best technical advice.
• Deliver outputs on time, within budgets, and meet/exceed client requirements.
• Lead planning and production of all technical deliverables.
• Technical design planning and resource coordination.
• Plan and program work, track and report progress.
• Coordinate quality reviews, schedules, status, and modifications with group leaders.
• Ensure QA, budgets and schedules with group leaders.
• Deliver projects to required quality standards using remote teams.
• Identify and resolve project issues with solutions.
• Build constructive relationships with contractors, clients and consultants.
• Contribute to proposals and bid material for business development.
