Job summary

NZ Post is hiring a Customer Service Officer to support our Coastlands Retail Park location in Paraparaumu. You will help Kiwi businesses grow and connect whānau by delivering outstanding service at front counters and via phone, with responsibilities including bill payments, NZTA transactions and parcel processing.

The role involves processing mail, scanning freight, heavy lifting, and a dynamic, customer‑facing environment. It’s a fixed term until April 2027, in a values‑driven, supportive team.

Qualifications

• Strong problem solving skills and the ability to think on the fly.
• Experience with administration tasks, retail operations, and data entry.
• Ability to interact with customers face-to-face, by phone and email.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service at front counters and over the phone.
• Process mail, scan freight and parcels, and assist with sending parcels locally and internationally.
• Support customers with bill payments, NZTA transactions and general inquiries.

Kōrero Mō Te Tūranga – About The Role

Our Customer Service Officers deliver an exceptional level of service to manage inquiries, requests or concerns from customers at our front counters and by phone from our new and temporary Coastlands Retail Park, Paraparaumu location. You'll champion our products and services, such as bill payment, NZTA transactions and assist with sending parcels across New Zeland and the world. As an NZ Post expert, you'll provide suggestions and access information for our customers. You'll process mail, scan freight and small packages from our couriers, so some heavy lifting will be required. Each day is busy and varied and will see you developing your problem‑solving skills. These roles are for a fixed term until April 2027.

We're a lively bunch, with a diverse set of skills, but we all share one common goal - to contribute to contribute to the growth and prosperity of our beautiful Aotearoa.

Shifts Available

• Shift 1: Monday to Friday 7.30am - 4pm
• Shift 2: Monday to Friday 9.15am - 5.45pm
• Shift 3: Tuesday to Friday midday - 5.45pm and Saturday 7.30am - 12.15pm
• Shift 4: Tuesday to Friday midday - 4pm and Saturday 9.45am - 11.30am
• Shift 5: Monday midday - 5.45pm and Saturday 7.30am - 12.15pm
