Job summary

Hirepool's Palmerston North branch is seeking a Customer Service/Groomer who delivers friendly sales advice, prepares quotes, and ensures our rental vehicles are clean, well maintained, and ready for hire.

You will handle contracts, coordinate deliveries and pick-ups, manage branch administration and customer accounts, and work across all branch duties with a supportive team. Full, rostered hours Monday to Saturday; Class 1 licence and strong communication required.

Qualifications

• Requires a Full Class 1 Driver Licence (Class 2 a plus).
• Mechanical interest and aptitude are advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Intermediate computer skills with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to build relationships with diverse customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones with sales advice and quotes.
• Create contracts and complete transactions.
• Coordinate and deliver/pick-up vehicles.
• Office administration and customer account maintenance.
• Keep branch vehicle and rental fleet groomed to high standards.
• Ensure compliance checks are carried out.
• Identify and escalate repair/maintenance issues as needed.
• Manage maintenance and damages effectively.

Our Hirepool Vehicle Rentals team provide expert advice to business, commercial and recreational travellers on a wide variety of transport options. Catering to both local short-term customers and larger long-term contracts, we meet the transport needs of everyone from big names in infrastructure, construction, film/TV, and sporting events to independent contractors, and casual weekend hirers.

As a Customer Service/Groomer you need excellent customer service and communication skills and a confident phone manner to field queries, provide advice and put quotes and contracts together, as well as ensure our vehicles are well groomed, maintained, and ready for hire. Show great attention to detail and have excellent time management skills. At this branch, you're part of a small, hardworking team so you need to be prepared to help out across all areas of branch operations.

What you need:

• Full Class 1 Driver Licence (a Class 2 is a great advantage)
• Mechanical interest and aptitude would be great
• Solid written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
• Intermediate computer skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Able to work with a diverse array of people and build successful working relationships
• Willingness to work on a rostered basis - our branch is open Monday-Saturday.
