Job summary

Department of Conservation (DOC) is seeking a Customer Service Centre Agent to join the Visitor Services Team. You will learn quickly and educate and respond to public queries across phone and email, guiding callers to the right team and handling a range of tasks with support from the regional network.

The role is Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with a work‑life balance and flexible working supported. Permanent, full-time, based in Invercargill, Christchurch or Nelson.

Qualifications

• Confident juggling of competing demands.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with diverse people.
• Experience in a call centre is advantageous.
• Ability to document and report on work clearly.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer queries by phone and email.
• Liaise with the public and direct callers to the appropriate team.
• Forward messages on compliance-related matters when needed.
• Direct callers to operations teams for stranded issues or bookings.
• Assist with booking campsite stays and related inquiries.
