Job summary

An established New Zealand-owned supplier in the construction sector seeks a Sales Support Lead to manage day-to-day customer support workflow and uphold high service standards.

You will coordinate enquiries, orders and requests, support the wider sales team and bridge gaps between Sales, Operations and Logistics, ensuring smooth information flow.

You will also seek practical ways to improve response times, systems and processes while supporting the team through busy periods.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in customer service, sales support or customer coordination.
• Experience coordinating workflow or supporting a customer service function.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage escalated customer matters professionally.
• Good administrative skills and strong attention to detail.
• Experience with order processing, quotes or customer account enquiries.
• Proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently and follow tasks through to completion.
• Experience within trade supply, hardware, retail, wholesale or distribution would be beneficial.
• Knowledge of building or construction-related products would be advantageous, training provided.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily sales support workflow and prioritise incoming enquiries.
• Ensure customer emails, calls and requests are handled accurately and on time.
• Support team members with complex or escalated customer situations.
• Provide customers with information about products, pricing, stock availability, lead times and deliveries.
• Manage online customer enquiries, warranty claims and spare-parts requests.
• Support the processing of customer orders, quotes and related documentation.
• Liaise with Sales, Operations, Logistics and warehouse teams to support order fulfilment.
• Follow up outstanding enquiries and help ensure issues are fully resolved.
• Identify opportunities to improve customer service processes and workflow efficiency.
• Maintain consistent communication and service standards across the function.
