Job summary

Graham Consulting is partnering with a reputable building and construction supplier to recruit a Trade Sales Support based in Christchurch, Canterbury. You will be the frontline contact for builders, contractors, and trade customers, handling enquiries, quotes, orders and deliveries to ensure a seamless service from enquiry to completion.

Based in the branch, you’ll work closely with our sales and operations teams to move orders, provide product advice, and build lasting relationships with trade

Qualifications

• Experience in internal sales or customer service within building/merchant environments preferred.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.
• Experience with quotes, pricing and order processing.

Responsibilities

• Managing customer enquiries across phone, email, and the trade counter.
• Preparing quotes, pricing jobs, and processing orders accurately.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with trade customers.
• Providing product advice and helping customers find the right solutions.
• Liaising with warehouse, logistics, purchasing, and external sales teams.
• Supporting larger orders, tenders, and commercial projects.
• Following up on quotes and customer requirements.
• Keeping up to date with products and developments across the building industry.
• Providing general support to the wider sales team as required.

About the Role

About You

We’re looking for someone who is confident dealing with customers and enjoys working in a busy, hands-on environment. You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience in internal sales, customer service, or a trade environment
• Building, construction, or merchant industry experience is advantageous
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
• Confidence working with quotes, orders, and pricing
• A practical, solutions-focused approach
• The ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team
