Job summary

Team Global Express in Nelson invites applications for a Class 5 Driver / Freight Operator. The role combines driving with hands-on freight handling in a fast-paced environment where teamwork is essential.

Shift: Monday – Friday 9.30am – 7.00pm. You will load/unload freight, scan efficiently, and ensure safety and reliability across road and rail units.

Qualifications

• Must hold clean NZ Class 5 licence and forklift OSH cert.
• Dangerous Goods endorsement required.
• Customer-focused attitude and strong teamwork.
• Experience driving on New Zealand roads.

Responsibilities

• Meet branch objectives by using On-time to scan freight efficiently.

About the role - Mō te tūranga

This is more than just a driving job. You’ll combine Class 5 driving with hands‑on freight handling in a fast‑paced, physical role where teamwork is critical and no two days are the same.

Shift: Monday – Friday 9.30am – 7.00pm

Key duties

• Load and unload all freight safely and securely, for both road and rail units.
• Achieve branch operational objectives by using On-time to scan freight efficiently.
• Ensure all equipment is operated in a safe and proficient manner.
• Maintain good working relationships.
• Communicate effectively within a team environment.

What will you bring?

• Clean Full NZ Class 5 License – must have Forklift License with OSH cert – must have Dangerous Good Endorsement – ideal Customer-focused attitude Communication and teamwork skills Experience driving on New Zealand roads
