Job summary

CGR Services in Papakura is seeking a multi skilled Class 4 Hook Truck Driver to join our team. You’ll operate the vehicle and onboard equipment to ensure safe, timely service collection and complete routine paperwork.

You must have a valid Class 4 licence, hook truck experience, and the ability to drive an 18 Speed Road Ranger truck. This is a Monday–Saturday role requiring fitness and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Proven heavy vehicle driving experience with hook truck focus.
• Valid Class 4 drivers licence and clean record.
• Experience operating Mule/compactor trucks is preferred.
• Ability to stay on feet 6–8 hours and perform safety checks.
• Willingness to work Monday through Saturday and rostered weekends.

• Operate vehicle and onboard equipment to ensure safe, timely service collection.
• Maintain accurate records, complete paperwork, and perform routine safety checks.
• Support team as needed and educate the public on proper waste practices.

We are looking for a multi skilled Class 4 Hook Truck Driver to join our team based in Papakura.

About the role

As a Driver, you’ll operate the vehicle and onboard equipment to ensure safe, timely service collection, maintain accurate records, complete paperwork, and perform routine safety checks.

At times there may be some heavy lifting so you will need to have a reasonable fitness level. From previous experience, you’ll already know the importance of health and safety in the workplace, and you’ll champion our culture of making sure everyone gets home safely.

About you

• Proven heavy vehicle driving experience - Hook Truck experience essential
• A valid and clean full Class 4 driver’s licence
• Ability to drive an 18 Speed Road Ranger Truck (Gearbox)
• A team player – this role includes getting out to help the team when needed
• A sharp eye for detail to ensure sorting is performed accurately and efficiently
• Experience operating mule/compactor trucks
• Has the physical ability to remain on their feet for 6 -8 hours a day
• Availability to work Monday through Saturday (rostered weekends)
• The ability to educate the public on proper waste and recycling practices
• A strong commitment to health and safety standards
• Adherence to all road regulations and logbook requirements
• Safe and efficient driving practices
• Strong skills in route planning and navigation
• Flexibility to operate a variety of vehicle classes
