Job summary

WM New Zealand is seeking a Class 2 Driver to join our Kapiti-area fleet. You will operate a modern truck, perform safety checks, and ensure timely waste collections.

You’ll work independently yet as part of a supportive team, with a strong focus on health and safety, accurate paperwork, and courteous customer service.

This is permanent, full-time work with competitive rates, ongoing training, and guaranteed hours in a stable industry.

Qualifications

• A Class 2 NZ licence.
• Moderate heavy vehicle driving experience.
• Ability to work confidently on your own and as part of a team.
• A strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
• Mechanical aptitude and care for equipment.
• Waste industry experience is a bonus, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate a vehicle and equipment to ensure safe and timely collection of service.
• Keep accurate records and paperwork and undertake vehicle safety checks.
• You will be required to perform vehicle safety checks and report defects.
• You are customer-focused and interact with customers and colleagues in a professional manner.

The role you'll play

Are you a skilled Class 2 Driver and keen to progress your career? Do you have a strong understanding of the NZTA regulations?

We are an essential service, if you have a great work ethic and looking for a driving role, we can offer you a great career.

As a Driver, you will be responsible for operating a vehicle and equipment on board to ensure a safe and timely collection of service throughout Kapiti. You’ll also be required to keep accurate records and paperwork and undertake vehicle safety checks.

At times there may be some heavy lifting so you will need to have a reasonable level of fitness. From previous experience, you’ll already know the importance of health and safety in the workplace, and you’ll champion our culture of making sure everyone gets home safely.
