Job summary

WM New Zealand is seeking a reliable Driver to operate a Hook truck and trailer in the Kapiti Region, performing daily vehicle safety checks and maintaining accurate records. You will deliver a safe, timely haulage service and work closely with the broader team to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• Experience driving heavy vehicles with a focus on safety and reliability.
• Valid NZ Class 5 driver’s licence is required.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping are essential.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform daily vehicle checks.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Hook truck and trailer and equipment to provide a safe, timely haulage service.
• Keep accurate records and paperwork and perform vehicle safety checks.
• Communicate effectively with customers and team members to meet delivery needs.

The role you'll play

About the role

As a Driver, you will be responsible for operating a Hook truck and trailer and equipment on board to ensure a safe and timely haulage service in the Kapiti Region. You'll also be required to keep accurate records and paperwork and undertake vehicle safety checks.

Qualifications

We're seeking a reliable and motivated driver who takes pride in safe, high-quality work. You'll have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with strong communication skills and be committed to excellent customer service.

You'll bring:

• A valid Class 5 NZ Driver's Licence
• Proven heavy vehicle driving experience
• A solid understanding of vehicle safety, maintenance and fatigue management
• Strong attention to detail and good record keeping skills
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to carry out daily checks and maintenance
