About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and empathetic Claims Handler to manage short-term insurance claims efficiently and effectively for their clients in Queenstown . This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service during often stressful times for policyholders. You will assess claims, determine coverage, and facilitate prompt settlements, playing a crucial role in maintaining client trust and loyalty within the Eastern Cape region.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, register, and process new insurance claims accurately and promptly.
• Investigate claims by gathering necessary documentation, reports, and statements.
• Assess policy coverage and determine the validity of claims based on policy terms and conditions.
• Communicate effectively with claimants, service providers, and other stakeholders throughout the claims process.
• Negotiate settlements within authorized limits, ensuring fair outcomes for both the client and the company.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of all claims activities in the claims management system.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in handling short-term insurance claims.
• Good understanding of various short-term insurance products (e.g., motor, household, business).
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Familiarity with insurance claims software and standard office productivity tools.
• Must hold relevant regulatory qualifications and be registered with the FSCA in South Africa .
