Foodstuffs North Island is seeking a Checkout Manager to lead our checkout team and ensure a fast, friendly, and efficient customer experience. You will oversee rosters, coach staff, and maintain high service standards in a busy supermarket environment.

We value proactive leaders who communicate well, think on their feet, and foster a positive team culture. This role requires weekend shifts and hands-on leadership across front-end operations.

Formación

• Demonstrated customer service excellence in retail or supermarket settings.
• Proven leadership or mentoring experience with the ability to develop a team.
• Strong written and spoken English with clear communication skills.

About the Role

This is a busy, hands-on leadership role suited to someonewho thrives in a fast-paced supermarket environment. You’ll be responsible for managing the checkout team and coordinating rosters, with the support of ourCheckout Supervisors, to ensure our front end runs smoothly and efficiently.

You’ll lead by example, support your team through theday-to-day challenges of the role, and ensure every customer receives friendly,efficient, and exceptional service. You’ll need to be proactive, adaptable, andconfident making decisions on the go, while fostering a positive team culturewhere everyone feels supported and encouraged to grow.

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Previous checkout and/orcustomer service experience in a supermarket environment.
• Proven leadership ormanagement experience, with the ability to motivate, support, and developa team.
• Excellent communicationskills, with a strong command of written and spoken English.
• Basic maths skills andconfidence handling everyday checkout operations.
• A positive, can-doattitude, with initiative, common sense, and the ability to think on yourfeet.
• The ability to followinstructions, embrace change, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong teamwork skillsand a genuine willingness to support others.
• The physical fitnessrequired to meet the demands of a hands-on supermarket role.
