Job summary

NZCL in New Plymouth is seeking casual Support Workers to join our Intensive Support Services, helping young adults to live independently within their community. You will coach, mentor and work as part of a team to ensure consistent support and positive outcomes for rangitahi.

Requirements include a desire to support young people, prior experience with youth, understanding of intellectual disability and autism, creative thinking and a full NZ driver's license.

Qualifications

• A desire to support rangitahi/young people to learn new skills and achieve outcomes.
• Previous experience working with young people/rangitahi.
• An understanding of Intellectual disability and Autism.
• Creativity and collaborative mindset.
• A full NZ driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Work as a team to ensure consistency in your approach.
• Support young adults to go to school or access education.
• Observe and respond to health concerns or support overall wellbeing.
• Support rangitahi/young people to work towards goals and outcomes.
