Job summary

Air New Zealand Limited is hiring a Cargo Warehouse Agent in Christchurch on a fixed-term basis until February 2027. Join our Cargo team to load, unload and safely handle a variety of cargo while preparing pallets and ensuring accurate documentation to support smooth operations.

This role is in a fast-paced warehouse environment where safety, teamwork and reliability are at the heart of what we do, with 25–30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and opportunities to learn cargo and logistics

Qualifications

• Availability to work 25-30 hours per week, primarily Monday to Friday.
• Physically fit for manual handling and active warehouse work.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety procedures.
• Positive attitude, reliable, team player.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload and safely handle cargo, including heavy and oversized freight.
• Build, break down and prepare cargo pallets and containers for transport.
• Complete cargo acceptance checks and documentation accurately to support efficient operations.
• Operate warehouse equipment safely and in line with operational procedures.
• Contribute to a safe, organised and high-performing warehouse environment.

About the role

• Load, unload and safely handle a variety of cargo, including heavy and oversized freight

What we're looking for

• Availability to work 25-30 hours per week, primarily Monday to Friday, with some flexibility around working hours when required
• The physical fitness required for manual handling and working in an active warehouse environment
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow safety procedures consistently
• A positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to work as part of a close-knit team.
