Job summary

Summerset in Auckland's St Johns village seeks a caring Caregiver to support residents with daily living, meals, hygiene and personal care in a warm, team-focused environment.

You’ll work Tuesday to Saturday 4.00pm–8.00pm in a permanent part-time roster; experience in aged care and strong communication are ideal; diverse backgrounds welcomed.

Qualifications

• Experience in aged care or similar role is required.
• Strong verbal communication skills to build lasting relationships.
• Commitment to a rotational roster and flexibility with shifts.

Responsibilities

• Delivering meals and assisting with mealtimes.
• Aiding with hygiene such as showering.
• Assisting with individual care plan requirements, including walks and exercises.
• Supporting residents with activities like puzzles and table tennis.

Job Description

As a Caregiver at our St Johns village,you will work as part of a team that creates the safest, healthiest and most enjoyable lifestyle for our residents. This role is varied and centres around providing personal care and assistance to our resident’s daily lives.

Typical duties include:

• Delivering meals and helping with mealtimes
• Aiding with hygiene, such as showering
• Assisting with Individual care plan requirements, such as walks and exercises
• Helping with activities, such as puzzles, table tennis etc

This is a permanent part-time role working a roster of Tuesday to Saturday 4.00pm to 8.00pm.

Qualifications

You will naturally be empathetic, kind and patient, and thrive in a role where your compassion and care make a difference to people’s lives.

You’ll bring with you:

• Experience in aged care or a similar role
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to build lasting relationships
