Job summary

Summerset is seeking a dedicated Caregiver for St Johns Village in Auckland. You will join a team delivering personal care and supporting residents in daily living, including meals, hygiene, and activities.

The role is permanent part-time, rostered Tue–Sat from 4.00pm to 8.00pm, with opportunities to progress and gain qualifications. We value empathy, patience and strong communication to build meaningful resident relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience in aged care or similar role
• Dementia care qualifications
• Strong verbal communication skills to build lasting relationships
• Commitment to a rotational roster

As a Caregiver at our St Johns village, you will work as part of a team that creates the safest, healthiest and most enjoyable lifestyle for our residents. This role is varied and centres around providing personal care and assistance to our resident’s daily lives.

Typical duties include:

• Delivering meals and helping with mealtimes
• Aiding with hygiene, such as showering
• Assisting with Individual care plan requirements, such as walks and exercises
• Helping with activities, such as puzzles, table tennis etc

This is a permanent part-time role working a roster of Tuesday to Saturday 4.00pm to 8.00pm.

Qualifications

You will naturally be empathetic, kind and patient, and thrive in a role where your compassion and care make a difference to people’s lives.

You’ll bring with you:

• Experience in aged care or a similar role
• Dementia care qualifications.
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to build lasting relationships
• Commitment to a rotational roster.
