Job summary

Summerset in Lower Hutt is seeking a Caregiver for Memory Care on a fixed-term, part-time basis. You will join a caring team in our village to deliver high-quality, resident-directed care for people living with dementia.

The role involves mealtime support, hygiene assistance, and helping with individual care plans, activities, and social engagement. Shifts run 4:00pm–8:00pm on a 3-on/3-off roster until 2 May 2027.

Qualifications

• Experience in aged care or a similar role.
• Experience with dementia care.
• Strong verbal communication skills to build lasting relationships.
• Ability to work a 3-on, 3-off roster.

Responsibilities

• Deliver meals and assist with mealtimes.
• Aide with hygiene tasks such as showering.
• Assist with individual care plan requirements like walking/exercises.
• Support residents with activities such as puzzles and table tennis.

As a Caregiver at our Boulcott Villageyou will work as part of a team to deliver high-quality, resident-directed care for people living with dementia. Our secure, specialist environment supports safety while promoting a fulfilling and enjoyable lifestyle, with each resident’s quality of life at the heart of everything we do. Our care is resident-directed - meaning we tailor care and support to each individual’s preferences, values, and needs.

Typical duties include:

• Delivering meals and helping with mealtimes
• Aiding with hygiene, such as showering
• Assisting with Individual care plan requirements, such as walks and exercises
• Helping with activities, such as puzzles, table tennis etc

This is a fixed-term, part-time position until2 May 2027, working a 3-on, 3-off roster with shifts from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.

You will naturally be empathetic, kind and patient, and thrive in a role where your compassion and care make a difference to people’s lives.

You'll bring with you:

• Experience in aged care or a similar role
• Experience with dementia care
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to build lasting relationships
• Ability to work a roster pattern of 3days on and 3days off
