Job summary

Summerset is seeking a Caregiver for our Whanganui village to support residents with daily living, meals, personal care, and activities.

This casual, as-needed role offers flexible shifts, weekend rates, and uniform provided, with a strong emphasis on compassion and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Empathetic, kind and patient personality
• Experience in aged care or similar role
• Strong verbal communication and relationship-building
• Ability to be available for variety of shifts, sometimes at short notice

Responsibilities

• Deliver meals and assist with mealtimes
• Assist with hygiene and daily living activities
• Support residents with individual care plans, walks and exercises
• Help with activities such as puzzles and table tennis

Job Description:

As a Caregiver at our Whanganui villageyou will work as part of a team that creates the safest, healthiest and most enjoyable lifestyle for our residents. This role is varied and centres around providing personal care and assistance to our resident’s daily lives.

Typical duties include:

• Delivering meals and helping with mealtimes
• Aiding with hygiene, such as showering
• Assisting with Individual care plan requirements, such as walks and exercises
• Helping with activities, such as puzzles, table tennis etc

This is a Casual role. Working on an 'as and when required' basis.

Qualifications:

You will naturally be empathetic, kind and patient, and thrive in a role where your compassion and care make a difference to people’s lives.

You’ll bring with you:

• Experience in aged care or a similar role
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to build lasting relationshipsCommitmentto being available for a variety of shifts, sometimes at short notice
