Job summary

Summerset Retirement Villages in New Zealand seeks dedicated Caregivers for our village in Havelock North. You will work as part of a team delivering personal care and daily assistance to residents, including meals, hygiene support, and activities to maintain wellbeing.

Two positions are available: full-time on a 4 days on/2 days off roster with AM/PM shifts, and part-time 48 hours per fortnight Monday-Thursday, 7am–1:30pm. Weekend shifts attract extra rates.

Qualifications

• Empathetic, kind and patient with a caring attitude.
• Experience in aged care or similar role.
• Strong verbal communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver meals and help with mealtimes.
• Assist with hygiene such as showering.
• Support with individual care plans (walks and exercises).
• Assist with activities such as puzzles and table tennis.

Job Description

As a Caregiver at our Summerset in the Vines village, you will work as part of a team that creates the safest, healthiest and most enjoyable lifestyle for our residents. This role is varied and centres around providing personal care and assistance to our resident’s daily lives.

Typical Duties Include

• Delivering meals and helping with mealtimes
• Aiding with hygiene, such as showering
• Assisting with Individual care plan requirements, such as walks and exercises
• Helping with activities, such as puzzles, table tennis etc

We Have 2 Positions Available

• Full-time: 60 - 80hours per fortnight on a 4 days on, 2 days off roster with a mix of AM and PM shifts.
• Part-time: 48 hours per fortnight from Monday - Thursday, 7am - 1:30pm.

Qualifications

You will naturally be empathetic, kind and patient, and thrive in a role where your compassion and care make a difference to people’s lives.

You’ll Bring With You

• Experience in aged care or a similar role
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to build lasting relationships
• Commitment to a rotational roster across morning, afternoon and night shifts
• Ability to work a roster pattern of 4 days on and 2 days off
