Job summary

Summerset Rototuna Village is seeking a Café Supervisor to lead daily café operations, ensure high-standard food and drink service, and mentor a small team. This permanent role runs Sunday to Thursday, 8.00am–4.00pm, within our Rototuna village community.

You will work closely with the Chef Manager and village team to deliver a welcoming, consistent café experience for residents, families, and visitors with a passion for people and hospitality.

Qualifications

• Previous experience running daily operations in a café or hospitality business.
• Experience leading a team is ideal.
• Superb barista skills.
• A warm, friendly personality with great customer service skills.
• Excellent communication and the ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily cafe operations and reconcile the daily takings.
• Train and mentor a small team.
• Prepare, present, and serve food and drinks to a high standard.
• Provide outstanding barista services and support village events.

We’re now looking for a Café Supervisor for our Rototuna village who shares our love for people, hospitality, and quality service.

Responsibilities

You’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth running of our café. From making great coffee to creating tasty cabinet food and light meals, you’ll help make our café a warm and welcoming place for residents, their families, and visitors. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Leading the daily operations of the café and reconciling the daily takings
• Training and mentoring a small team
• Preparing, presenting, and serving food and drinks to a high standard
• Providing outstanding barista services
• Assisting with catering for village events and resident functions

You’ll work closely with the Chef Manager, and wider village team to deliver a café experience that’s welcoming, consistent, and genuinely enjoyable.

Contract

This is a permanent role working a roster of Sunday to Thursday, 8.00am to 4.00pm.
