Job summary

Summerset is hiring a Café Supervisor for the Rototuna village. You will manage daily café operations, serve residents and visitors, and work closely with the Chef Manager to deliver a welcoming café experience.

We value warmth, reliability, and strong customer service. This permanent role follows a Sunday–Thursday roster from 8.00am to 4.00pm, with opportunities for career growth and hospitality qualifications.

• Previous experience running daily operations in a café or hospitality business.
• Experience leading a team is ideal.
• Warm, friendly personality with great customer service skills.
• Excellent communication and the ability to multitask.

About the role

We’re now looking for a Café Supervisor for our Rototuna villagewho shares our love for people, hospitality, and quality service.

You’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth running of our café. From making great coffee to creating tasty cabinet food and light meals, you’ll help make our café a warm and welcoming place for residents, their families, and visitors. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Leading the daily operations of the café and reconciling the daily takings
• Training and mentoring a small team
• Preparing, presenting, and serving food and drinks to a high standard
• Assisting with catering for village events and resident functions

You’ll work closely with the Chef Manager, and wider village team to deliver a café experience that’s welcoming, consistent, and genuinely enjoyable.

This is a permanent role working a roster of Sunday to Thursday, 8.00am to 4.00pm.
