Job description

Are you a natural hunter with a passion for bringing fresh ideas to market? We are partnering with a fantastic non-profit client to find an energetic Business Development Specialist who can turn a brand-new offering into a market success.

This isn't about maintaining existing accounts- it's about opening doors, starting conversations, and shaping the commercial footprint of a unique subscription platform designed for New Zealand's SME community.

The Opportunity

Our client is introducing a tailored benefit and engagement solution that helps small-to-medium businesses attract, retain, and reward their staff.

In this role, you will be the driving force behind the platform’s launch. You’ll map out target sectors, connect directly with decision-makers, and build long-term value from the ground up.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Spark New Connections: Proactively prospect and reach out to SME leaders across New Zealand, converting interest into active partners.

  • Lead the Full Sales Process: Manage every step-from initial discovery chats and product demos to presenting proposals and closing the deal.

  • Target Key Stakeholders: Engage directly with business owners, founders, operational managers, and HR leads.

  • Shape the Strategy: Share real-world market feedback to help refine pitching strategies, value messaging, and customer onboarding journeys.

  • Track & Manage Pipeline: Keep pipeline activity updated with structured follow-ups, accurate forecasting, and clear conversion goals.

What You Bring
  • Outbound Sales Drive: Proven success in B2B business development, outbound prospecting, and direct lead generation—ideally selling subscription services, memberships, or workplace solutions.

  • SME Focus: A solid understanding of the NZ SME landscape and how to communicate effectively with busy business owners.

  • Consultative Style: Great listening skills, strong objection-handling ability, and a consultative approach to closing deals.

  • Self-Motivation & Structure: High autonomy, reliable CRM habits, and a goal-oriented mindset to hit key targets.

Why You’ll Love Working Here
  • Purpose-Driven Culture: Join a supportive, highly collaborative non-profit organisation that genuinely cares about its people and mission.

  • High Impact: Be the owner of a new product line, with direct influence on its growth trajectory and commercial direction.

At Randstad, we are passionate about providing equal employment opportunities and embracing diversity to the benefit of all. We actively encourage applications from any background.
