Job summary

Team Global Express in Timaru is seeking a Branch Manager to lead our Timaru team, drive operational excellence, deliver outstanding customer service, and support commercial growth.

You will own the branch P&L, plan resources and transport, supervise a high‑performing team, monitor key metrics, uphold health and safety standards, and collaborate with national and regional colleagues to achieve shared success.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in an operational leadership role (transport, logistics or similar).
• Proven capability with planning and delivering to that plan.
• Excellent communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.
• A strong Health & Safety focus and compliant mindset.
• Commercial acumen and sales experience is desirable.

About the role - Mō te tūranga

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll drive operational excellence, lead a high-performing team, ensure outstanding customer service and provide commercial business development support.

Reporting to the Area Manager, Central and Upper South Island your Key Responsibilities include:

• Take full ownership of branch financial performance, including P&L, EBIT and cost control
• Lead a customer-focused team, working closely with customers and sales to deliver outstanding service.
• Strategically plan people, resources, and transport to achieve business goals.
• Inspire and develop your team, fostering a culture of growth and high performance.
• Drive growth, efficiency, and align the team with the evolving needs of the business.
• Manage key metrics: utilisation, claims, DIFOT, safety, and customer service.
• Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
• Collaborate with national and regional teams for shared success.

Additionally, you will bring:

• Confident with reporting, IT systems, and data management
