Job summary

Team Global Express is seeking a Branch Manager for the Timaru team. This hands-on leadership role drives operational excellence, leads a high-performing team, and delivers outstanding customer service while supporting commercial business development.

You will own the branch's financial performance, lead planning of people and resources, and promote a safety-first culture. Relevant transport/logistics experience and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in an operational leadership role (transport, logistics or similar).
• Ability to plan and deliver against a strategic plan.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A strong Health & Safety focus.
• Comfort with reporting, IT systems and data management.
• Commercial acumen with sales exposure is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of branch financial performance, including P&L, EBIT and cost control.
• Lead a customer-focused team, working closely with customers and sales to deliver outstanding service.
• Strategically plan people, resources and transport to achieve business goals.
• Inspire and develop your team, fostering a culture of growth and high performance.
• Drive growth, efficiency and align the team with evolving business needs.
• Manage key metrics: utilisation, claims, DIFOT, safety and customer service.
• Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring health and safety standards are met.
