In this pivotal role, you’ll be responsible for building and guiding a team that thrives on technical expertise and a strong service culture. Your leadership will drive daily operations, foster collaboration, and ensure we consistently exceed performance targets.

You’ll champion a safe, inclusive, and supportive work environment - one where every team member feels valued, empowered to grow, and encouraged to give back to the community.

If you are driven to make a real impact and shape a culture of excellence, we want to hear from you.

  • Location: Smith&Smith Hastings (504 Karamu Road North Hastings 4122)
  • Hours: 40 hours Monday - Sunday
About You:

You’re an experienced professional with a strong background in autoglass or a related customer-facing operational role. Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • At least 3 years’ experience as an autoglass technician, including repair, replacement, and ADAS recalibration — or equivalent experience in an operational or customer service role within the autoglass or similar industry.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex issues into clear, actionable steps.
  • A solid understanding of Safety, Health, and Wellbeing practices, with a track record of applying them effectively in line with company policies.
  • Excellent communication skills, ensuring clarity, collaboration, and a shared understanding across your team and with customers.
  • Team-building experience, with a focus on leveraging diverse skills and perspectives to achieve shared goals.
  • Commercial awareness, using your knowledge of the industry and market trends to help drive business success.
  • A clean, full New Zealand driver’s licence.
  • Unrestricted rights to work in New Zealand.
What we offer:

At Smith&Smith®, we believe in supporting our people to thrive—both on and off the job. Here’s what you can look forward to:

  • Rewarding you – Access a fantastic rewards programme.
  • $200 annual wellbeing fund – Use it for anything that supports your wellbeing, like gym memberships, health costs, sports gear, self-development classes, or even a relaxing spa day.
