Job summary

New World Pukekohe is seeking a Bakery Assistant focused on sweet production, pastry decoration, and presenting finished products to a high standard. You’ll work with the bakery team to craft and display donuts, cakes and other treats, ensuring consistency and quality.

You should have a passion for baking, strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to thrive in a busy environment. Evening shifts are available, Sundays to Thursdays, with pay aligned to local bakery rates.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in a kitchen or bakery is preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated passion for baking and decorating.
• Ability to produce visually appealing products to high standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, finish and present sweet bakery products such as donuts and cakes.
• Ensure high-quality presentation and consistent product quality across the department.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace following food safety procedures.
• Work with the Bakery team to keep products prepared and available for customers.
• Contribute to delivering an outstanding customer experience through quality products.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys creating and finishing beautiful bakery products, from perfectly decorated donuts to delicious cakes and other sweet treats. • Preparing, finishing and presenting a range of sweet bakery products, including donuts, cakes and other treats.
• Ensuring all products are finished to a high standard, with excellent presentation and attention to detail.
• Maintaining consistent product quality and presentation across the department.
• Keeping your work area clean, tidy and organised while following food safety and health and safety procedures.
• Working alongside the wider Bakery team to ensure products are prepared and available for our customers.
• Helping deliver an outstanding customer experience through quality products and great service.

• Hours: Evening shifts, with total weekly hours to be confirmed
