Job summary

New World Pukekohe is seeking a reliable Produce Assistant to keep our fresh produce area pristine, well-presented and fully stocked. You will help maintain displays, check quality, rotate stock, and assist customers in a fast-paced environment.

This hands-on role involves lifting crates up to 20kg, standing for long periods, and working a 28-hour week with a Friday/Saturday/Monday roster. A friendly, can-do attitude is essential.

Responsibilities

• Replenishing and maintaining fruit and vegetable displays to ensure the department is always well-stocked and presented to a high standard.
• Checking the quality and freshness of produce, removing any products that do not meet our standards.
• Rotating stock correctly to maintain freshness and minimise waste.
• Receiving, moving and handling deliveries, including lifting crates weighing up to 20kg.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and organized department.
• Ensuring stock is displayed attractively and pricing and signage are accurate.
• Providing friendly, helpful customer service and assisting customers with their queries.
• Working collaboratively with the wider team to ensure the department operates efficiently and meets daily expectations.

• The ability to work efficiently in a busy retail environment.
• Flexibility to pick up additional shifts when required, which would be a definite advantage.

Previous supermarket or fresh produce experience would be beneficial, but a great attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are just as important!

The role

• Location: New World Pukekohe
• Hours: 28 hours per week
• Roster: Friday, Saturday and Monday
• Additional flexibility: The ability to pick up extra shifts when needed would be an advantage.
