Job summary

Southern Cross Health Insurance in Auckland is seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer to design, build and support enterprise‑grade Azure solutions, aligning cloud platforms with cost efficiency and high availability.

You will report to the Infrastructure Platforms Lead and work on insourcing and automation, delivering scalable platform features, self‑service capabilities, and robust incident resolution across the Azure estate.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of Azure: subscriptions, networking, identity (Entra ID), storage, Monitor, IaaS and PaaS.
• IaC tooling experience with Terraform, Ansible or Pulumi to automate provisioning and configuration.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation for software delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available Azure cloud solutions
• Manage and monitor Azure infrastructure for optimal performance and cost-efficiency
• Collaborate on new platform features and infrastructure improvements
• Enhance platform capabilities for self-service, automation, and standardisation
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve platform-related issues
• Perform root cause analysis and implement sustainable fixes
• Manage incident processes and communicate with stakeholders
• Develop and maintain platform documentation, ensuring it's up-to-date and accessible
• Continuously monitor and optimise platform performance and scalability, identifying bottlenecks and implementing improvements
