Job summary

NMIT is seeking a part-time Café Assistant for its Nelson and Richmond Campus Cafés. The role supports customer service, basic food prep, and flexible rosters, with 20–30 hours per week and weekday daytime shifts. Living wage is $29.90 per hour, and rosters are set two weeks in advance.

Applicants should have café experience and be able to work on both Nelson and Richmond campuses as rostered. Monday–Friday availability is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service at the campus cafés.

• Be available to cover events, sick days and annual leave.
• Attend to guests in a friendly and professional manner.

We are currently looking for a part time CaféAssistant to join our Nelson and Richmond Campus Café's. We are looking for an experienced café allrounder with outstanding customer service. We welcome applications from those wanting between 20 and 30 hours per week. You will need to be able to work flexibly on a roster basis, be available Monday - Friday between 7-4pm. Rosters are discussed and agreed two weeks in advance. Extra hours may also be available week to week to cover events, sick days and annual leave.
