Job summary

Tanuki Group Ltd in Auckland CBD is seeking an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our team. This full-time role requires delivering exceptional guest service, coordinating with all departments and supporting a diverse staff.

You should have at least two years in a similar environment, hold an LCQ, and possess knowledge of Japanese cuisine, language and culture. Prior hands-on leadership and inventory control will help ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years' experience in a similar hospitality environment.
• Holds a valid LCQ (Liquor Consumption Licence).
• Knowledge of Japanese cuisine, language, and culture.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional guest service consistently.

• Serve as the main contact for customer complaints.

Job Title: Assistant Restaurant Manager

Location: 319 Queen street Auckland CBD

Employment type: Full-time and Permanent

Hourly pay: $28-$30 depending on experience

Your main duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Consistently deliverexceptional service to our guests.
• Liaise with all departments to ensure smooth daily operations of the restaurant.
• Planning menus in consultation with chefs.
• Point of contact for all customer complaints.
• A strong and in depth understanding of reservations to manage requests via phone, email and internal communication, planning and organising special functions.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to effective communicate to a wide diverse audience.
• Ensuring the venues comply with health and safety regulations.
• Have people management capabilities with the natural passion to support a diverse team.
• In-depth Knowledge of Japanese cuisine, Beers, Japanese sake & New Zealand Wines
• Selecting & training new employees/current employees on proper customer service practices
• Maintaining effective inventory management
